Pictures with Santa

Yesterday we had pictures with Santa and it was quite the experience. The pictures came out wonderful, but it was an ordeal to get there and get them done. I had decided to wait to change Tommy into his outfit until we were there, and then I forgot his outfit on the kitchen counter.

The people running the shoot felt sorry for me so they delayed our photo shoot while I went to a Carter's to try to re-buy the same outfit. Did I mention we were doing pictures 40 minutes away from home so running back to get it wasn't an option.

So I get to Carter's and they have the same outfit but 2 sizes too big. So I opted for another outfit, but nothing they had was his size. It was all either too big or too small. I guess they really got cleaned out over Thanksgiving weekend. I ended up going with this darling thermal outfit that unfortunately I just couldn't pour his little fat rolls into. So you can see the gaps between the buttons if you look close, but it's still cute!

As we finally get back to do the pictures, Eddie decides to have diarrhea, and we go through 2 diapers in about 5 minutes. We managed to stink up their bathroom really bad, and he got some on his pants, but by that point I really didn't care.

Looking at these darling pictures you would never notice that Eddie has poop on his pants, and Tommy's outfit is about a size too small. Oh the things we go through to preserve these great memories!

*Santa is actually Dan. They dress you up so the kids aren't scared of you. Which, by the way Eddie was crying in the end you would have thought he was terrified. But he was really just tired of pictures.

**Tommy had his first true laugh on Tuesday. Dan was bathing him and he let out a couple of the cutest laughs. Dan hollered at me in time for me to hear one. I tried to get it on video but of course as soon as the camera came out he was done. I can't wait until it becomes a regular occurrence.

Who Doesn't Love Baby Smiles

Tommy has finally decided it was time to start sharing his sweet smile with the world. Okay, maybe not the world quite yet, but his Dad for sure. That's right, Tommy only smiles for his Dad and it is the sweetest thing to see. I was lucky enough to catch a few photos of him.

We just celebrated Tommy's first Thanksgiving. We spent it with the Cardall family at the pool house. Poor Eddie had been so sick all week and fell asleep on the drive up there. Then he took a 3 hour nap while we were there. I have been off dairy for the last month to help with Tommy's acid reflux, so Dan was the only one who got to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner.

And here are my beautiful boys all ready for church. Pretty cute huh?!

My First Race

I ran my first race this morning, on Thanksgiving. It was the Fleet Feet Turkey Trot 5K in American Fork. I have only been running for 2 weeks now so it was a tough run, being the farthest I have run yet. Dan's cousins Zac, Liz, Hanna & Jordan, Jake & Stacy ran it as well. It was so much fun.

It took me 32.50 minutes

Eddie's First Movie

Eddie went to his first movie this past weekend. While in St George with the Walton's, we took all the kids to see Wreck it Ralph. Dan and I knew that Eddie would not last more than a few minutes so we had a quick exit plan.

To our astonishment, Eddie watched the whole movie! We put him in his own chair, with his own popcorn and his sippy cup and the kid was in heaven. The movie even started 20 minutes late. About halfway through he wanted to sit in Dan's lap, but otherwise he did great. And Tommy of course just slept through the whole thing. My little Eddie is growing up so fast!

Happy Halloween

This year was Eddie's first time to go trick or treating for Halloween. We had dinner with the Walton's which consisted of pizza decorated like a pumpkin face from Papa Murphy's, then we were ready to hit the neighborhood.

Eddie was dressed as Batman, and Tommy just wore his pumpkin pajamas and onesie that Grandma Cardall got him. He usually goes through 2-3 outfits a day with how much he spits up so it worked out perfect.

Eddie got the hang of going door to door after only a few houses. He wouldn't carry his bucket. Instead, he would hold a piece of candy in each hand. When he got to the door and was given another one, he would hold two in one hand and one in the other until he could get back to his bucket which Dan or I held, and drop off a piece. Then he would run as fast as his little legs could carry him to the next door.  I'm so excited for next year when Tommy will get to enjoy it too instead of just sleeping in the stroller.

The whole gang...Eddie as Batman, Connor as Hawkeye, Parker as Hulk, and Levi as Iron Man.

This is what happens when Batman doesn't get his way.
