Eddie's First Trip to the Aquarium

Today was Eddie's friend's birthday. Parker Walton turned the big ol' 2. So to celebrate Jeni and her two boys (Connor had to be in school, sad) invited us to the aquarium. I don't think Eddie got much from it, but he enjoyed looking at the bright lights and colors and watching Levi and Parker run around. You can tell he can't wait to be down on the ground running with them.

We saw everything from electric eels, to river otters, to penguins. I had a blast with the kids and enjoyed just getting out of the house for a few hours. Crazy to think this time next year I'll have an almost 2 year old and a 6 month old. That will make for a crazy trip to the aquarium. No, that will make for crazy days every day. I can't wait!

Eddie is 9 Months Old

I can't believe my little monster is 9 months old today. His first birthday is right around the corner. He weighs 19 lbs 1 oz and is 28.5 inches tall. He is in the 30th percentile for weight and 70th for height. He is definitely leaning out with his new mobility. He also now always has at least one or two bruises on his forehead. The poor kid falls all the time. I have finally had to start baby proofing now that he is obsessed with light sockets, electric cords and cupboards and drawers.
He is such a sweet boy. He loves to smile at everyone and has started waving and high-5ing. He is still very much a momma's boy. He will do about anything and be happy about it as long as I am holding him. And when he gets hurt, no one but mom can make him feel better.

My 3 Month Ultrasound

I had my second ultrasound today. I am 11 weeks and 6 days pregnant.Even though it is still a little early we asked the doc if he could make an educated guess on the sex of the baby. Drum roll please...... BOY!!!!! I have to admit I breathed a huge sigh of relief that he didn't say girl. Hopefully in future ultrasounds it will continue to look like a he instead of a she.

I think it will be great for Eddie to have a little brother that he will be so close in age with. I have high hopes that they will be the best of buds.

I have had really bad all day morning sickness as I had with Eddie. At my last appointment the doc put me on some anti nausea medication, but its the weaker kind since I couldn't stomach the more common Zofran when I was pregnant with Eddie. It helps with the vomiting, but makes me so tired. Most days I feel like I'm sleep walking, but it's better than being sick. I am hopeful that it will pass soon since I am now out of the first trimester, but with Eddie I was not so lucky so I'm not counting on it.

I can stand here, or there or anywhere!

It has amazed me that within a week of the first time he crawled, Eddie is already pulling himself up onto things. So what does this mean...lots of falling and even more crying. But he has to start somewhere. Everyday he gets better balance.
He stands at his table...
On the laundry basket...
On the diaper box...which he has toppled over numerous times...
And finally on the walker. He can do it on his own but with close supervision.

Eddie is Crawling

On Thursday night Eddie crawled for the first time. His motivation was to get to Dan. He crawled 3 or 4 times on the bed to get to him. Dan was so excited. He still hasn't quite figured out that he can get anywhere. It takes major motivation for him to crawl. He did it several times last night while we were at our friends the Robison's house. He refused to let the other baby have a binky and kept crawling to her to take it from her.
His other new trick he has learned is opening up the drawers in the kitchen from his walker. There are lots of fun new things inside of them.
My parents and little brother John came down to visit this weekend so we were finally able to tell them the news. The first morning they were down we met for breakfast and I had Eddie in this onesie that I got off Etsy.

My mom was the first to notice it said big brother. They are so excited. We had a wonderful rest of the weekend just enjoying spending time together. Eddie loved spending every minute he could with Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle John.

The First Doctors Appointment

We had our first doctors appointment today with baby number 2. Holy cow, I am having another baby! I think it officially set in today when I got to see the ultrasound and hear the heartbeat. It was a big relief to finally have it confirmed that everything is ok. I figured it was with how sick I have been but it's always nice to hear it.

We are going to the same clinic with the same doc we had for Eddie. As I finished registering the nurse who we had all through the last pregnancy came running out yelling "It is really you! Long time no see!" Which is true. Its been almost exactly 8 months to the day that I had Eddie. What can I say, we don't mess around. Even Doctor Davis was surprised but excited to see us so soon. Part of me can't believe I am doing this again at all, much less so soon. Especially since it seems to have been confirmed that my body just does not like to be pregnant.

It was a fun appointment that Dan and Eddie got to be apart of. So crazy to think that Eddie will be a big brother at 15 months. If it is any indication, by how sick I am, I would say I am having a boy again. But if I go by a dream that I have had several times, I would say its a girl. I guess time will tell.

Now for the specifics...The doc figures I am due September 20, 2012, which would put me at 8 weeks as of tomorrow.
