Eddie's First Easter
We spent Easter weekend in St. George with Ryan and Jeni Walton and their 3 darling boys.We went down late Thursday night to prep for the weekend's activities. Friday we went to an indoor water park with all the kids. It was Eddie's first time at something like this. And I learned, during our lunch before, that swim diapers are useless. When Dan went to pick Eddie up out of his highchair, we were greeted with a wet mess. About the only thing the diaper did, was hold the solid poo in. Sorry for the visual. So I learned that you put the swim diaper on at the very last minute before they get into the pool.
Eddie was quite cautious with the water and all of the crazy kids swimming around him. Dan took him down the waterslide, and managed to hold him up so he didn't end up under the water. Eddie didn't cry, but the look on his face was sheer terror. We even allowed Ryan to dunk him for the first time. We decided that someone other than mom and dad should do it in case it went badly. As Eddie came up out of the water he was ready to scream, so Dan and I began clapping and cheering. His pout slowly turned into a smile as he figured that if mom and dad say its good, then I guess I'm ok.
Saturday morning was the Easter Egg Hunt. It was such a crazy adventure that I had to video it so you could get the full effect. Keep in mind, that this area was only for 2 years old and younger.

And let the hunt begin!!!!
We spent the rest of the day taking it easy, seeing St George and just having fun with everyone. Connor, Levi and Parker are always so much fun to be around. Eddie loves trying to keep up with them. It will be all too soon that he'll be running around with them. Makes me excited and sad at the same time.
Sunday morning we woke up and the Easter Bunny had come!!!! He left baskets for all the kids and eggs all over the house and backyard. The Walton boys were kind enough to wait for Eddie to wake up before they began their Easter morning.
Eddie's basket had candy, an elephant/car/toy thing, some animal crackers and teddy grams, a new sippy cup and socks. The Easter Bunny did pretty good I would say.
When the egg hunt began, Eddie was once again more interested in eating the eggs than gathering them.
And when he got bored with that, he went back to his favorite thing of opening the cupboards.
We have to thank the Walton's for Eddie's best Easter yet. Now Dan and I have a lot to live up to. They have such fun traditions, that I hope we can take even part of them and incorporate them into our family. Of course, I hope to spend many more holidays with the Walton's as our kids grow up together.Monday, April 9, 2012
Eddie's First Steps
Today I had a listing appointment with one of my neighbors, Jacky Bell, from where we used to live in Ogden. She had wanted me to bring Eddie since she was there through the whole pregnancy but hadn't gotten to officially meet him yet.
We were sitting in her living room. Eddie was standing next to me at the couch, and Jacky was just diagonal from me in a chair. She got up to go grab something and Eddie just walked over to her chair. He wobbled a bit in the middle but made it all 5 or 6 steps.
I think I scared Jacky to death as I began screaming and clapping. I can't believe he actually walked! I have been able to get another one or two steps out of him but that's been about it. But now it is only a matter of time before he will be running around with me trying to catch him! I think it's pretty funny he chose his 10 month birthday to accomplish this big milestone. It's like he had been waiting for this day all along.
I'm not sure why these pictures keep turning sideways, but here is Eddie the other day when we had dinner with the Waltons. Eddie got to ride in the Mustang as Levi drove him around the cul-de-sac. What a stud!

4 Month Ultrasound
I had my 16 week ultrasound yesterday. And as you can see from the picture below, it is still a boy. I realized that I have become quite the expert at seeing ultrasounds, so I labeled these pictures to hopefully help point out the important stuff. He was positioned facing downward so the doc couldn't get a picture of his face, but we got his backside and were able to watch him kick his legs and clench his tiny hands. It is so amazing what is going on in there.
He is only about the size of a softball, but he is already a baby. I have actually felt him move twice within the last 2 weeks. It is only a soft flutter at this point. I can't wait until he is big enough that I can watch my stomach bulge out as he moves. That was one of the coolest and freakiest things with Eddie.
The doctor said all looks well. His development is right on track, with a strong heartbeat. They took my blood to run all of the tests to make sure everything looks normal, then next month we have a more high-tech ultrasound with a specialized tech who will check everything developmentally as far as heart, brain, spine etc. The 20 week appointment is always the most nerve racking.

Eddie's 9 Month Old Pictures
We took Eddie's 9 month old pictures a few weeks ago. And of course we picked a windy, cold day. But Eddie was a trooper and we got some amazing pictures thanks to my wonderful friend and photographer Andrea Christy. Feel free to check her out on her blog. I highly recommend her!
